Patent License Exchange
Patent License Exchange,
is a dot com startup company providing an internet exchange and services for intelectual
property. I am the project manager responsible for the delivery, integration and user
acceptance testing of their applications.
Matrix Direct,
a term life insurance provider, needed a requirements analysis, functional specifications
and high-level design of a network-printing module for their fulfillment department.
I worked at the client's site interviewing key executives and end users. I produced the
necessary requirements documents and design specifications and prototype screens.
I later liaised with our offshore development team to produce work breakdown structure,
project cost, timetable, and proposal. I completed the entire cycle within the estimated
time (accommodating extensive scope creep).
Honeywell Aerospace Services was seven months behind schedule in developing a Corporate Intranet site. I was assigned to lead a team to design, develop and implement the project. I interviewed users, decomposed the internal structure of the Fortune 100 company, integrated new design standards, developed procedures for incorporating content into the website, produced graphics and content, and rolled out the site within four weeks. Upon completion of the project the client asked that I stay on and lead a team to develop and implement their corporate Internet site under similar time constraints. We met the requirements and the deadline. At Allied Signal, I was the analyst and project leader for a Warranty Discrepancy Management System, and a Credit on Return Exchange Accounting System, both intranet applications that involved conversion of legacy data to a relational database. I developed EDI processes, and application interfaces to SAP Sales/Distribution, and Finance Modules. Those were manufacturing applications. I also led a project for a Human Resource Intranet application. It involved data migration from Clipper and mainframe data sources, included five payroll interfaces and consisted of over 150 user interfaces. At the same time I designed applications and data models, produced prototypes and wrote detailed specifications for a Corporate Telephone Directory, an Enterprise Resource Tracking System, and a Plant Performance Indicator System. I also designed and coded, an application that converted 136,000 help pages from a CD to an Intranet website. I introduced means of saving much analytic time in producing data dictionaries and designing data models; and I established procedures for prototyping and producing specifications that increased our offshore programming group's productivity by fully twenty-eight percent.
